Over Disinfections to Date
When determining the right disinfectant for your TD 100 Automated TEE Probe Disinfector or your TEEClean Automated TEE Probe Cleaner Disinfector remember that both the TD-5 and TD-8 have the same exact indications for use and perform inside the TD 100 and TEEClean identically. TD-5 and TD-8 are both heated and held in contact with the TEE probe for 5 minutes, and have been tested to effectively kill potentially harmful microorganisms without damaging the TEE probe.
For over 15 years, TD-5 has been used to complete millions of high-level disinfections with the TD 100. FDA cleared in 2016, TD-8 provides healthcare institutes with an additional disinfectant to be utilized in the TD 100 for HLD of the delicate TEE probes.
TD-12 is a granulated biocide that, when used in conjunction with the TD 200 Automated TEE Probe Disinfector, becomes a liquid high-level disinfectant and has been FDA cleared with a 3 minute high-level disinfection claim.
TD-5
The TD-5 disinfectant is a single-use, 2.65% glutaraldehyde based, high-level disinfectant that when used with the TD 100 or TEEClean, provides a five minute high level disinfection of TEE probes.
TD-8
The TD-8 disinfectant is a single-use, 0.59% Ortho-phthalaldehyde (OPA) based, high-level disinfectant that when used with the TD 100 or TEEClean, provides a five minute high-level disinfection of TEE probes.
TD-12
Each bottle of TD-12 has the exact dose of granulated biocide formulation required to generate the necessary concentration of high-level disinfectant inside the TD 200 reservoir. The single-use container is inverted inside the TD 200 reservoir where it is automatically opened and prepared for conversion into a liquid disinfectant solution. To validate the TD-12 minimum required concentration (MRC), QwikCheck™ Chemical Indicators are required.
QwikCheck Chemical Indicators
QwikCheck Chemical Indicators provide a rapid, convenient method to confirm the solution concentration of TD-12 once mixed inside the TD 200 Automated TEE Probe Disinfector reservoir. QwikCheck is a single-use device that has been FDA cleared to validate the MRC (minimum required concentration) of TD-12 . The indicators quickly and accurately confirm that the TD 200 has effectively mixed the TD-12 granulated biocide into a high-level disinfectant solution at the desired concentration.
