CS Medical is pleased to announce a strategic distribution agreement with GE Healthcare. GE will distribute the TD 100® Automated TEE Ultrasound Probe Disinfector to healthcare facilities in the United States.
The system is designed to provide high-level disinfection of transesophageal (TEE) echocardiogram ultrasound probes. It disinfects a TEE probe with TD-5™ disinfectant and provides printed verification upon completion of each successful disinfection cycle. The TD 100 is FDA 510k cleared and is the first and only automated TEE probe disinfector that has been tested and approved by the major TEE manufacturers.
HAIs are a major challenge for healthcare organizations:
- HAIs cost the U.S. up to $147 billion annual in direct and indirect costs1
- Up to 70% of HAIs are preventable using existing infection prevention strategies2
- One of the Top 5 non-compliance findings by The Joint Commission is failure to reduce the risk of infections associated with medical devices or equipment3
CS Medical's President, Mark Leath stated, "This agreement demonstrates both companies' continued commitment to minimizing Healthcare Acquired Infections. CS Medical's TEE Complete Care product line, which includes the TD 100, provides healthcare professionals the tools to properly and effectively reprocess the delicate, semi-critical TEE ultrasound probe. The TD 100 has completed over 2.3 million successful disinfections."
"This agreement reinforces GE's ongoing pledge to provide a variety of ultrasound disinfection solutions to help our customers improve patient outcomes and address the economic challenges associated with HAIs", states Martin Jossie, General Manager GE High Level Disinfection Ultrasound.
