3 Ways CS Medical’s Lab Helps You

With the state of the world being what it is these days, it’s hard knowing who to trust. A simple Google search on any topic will pull up various opinions and “facts” which are in direct opposition to one another. The same is true when it comes to trying to figure out the best methods for TEE ultrasound probe disinfection, storage, care, and transportation. Rather than just taking someone’s word for it, CS Medical does the hard work of research to find out the truth for ourselves. That’s why we have our own in-house lab.

CS Medical’s lab is not just useful for our engineers and scientists, though, it’s also a huge asset for you as the consumer. When you purchase a CS Medical product, you can rest assured that we did all the legwork ourselves to ensure that our products are top of the line. Our lab is designed to provide quite a few benefits, but three really stand out above the rest.

1. Effectiveness

The lab is always hard at work testing new ideas and attempting to develop innovative ways of tackling the problems that can arise while using and caring for TEE probes. There are so many elements to Complete Probe Reprocessing which our lab has tested and, in many cases, improved upon.

Using disinfection studies, our lab is able to test for material compatibility between our high-level disinfectants and TEE probes from various manufacturers. Material compatibility testing doesn’t end there. Our lab also ensures that our enzymatic sponges and cleaners will not damage delicate TEE probe insertion tubes. They even test to be sure that products like the TPorter® TEE Ultrasound Probe Procedure Case and the CleanShield® TEE Probe Storage Cabinet can withstand hundreds of cleanings with detergents like Solucide® Hard Surface Cleaner and Medi-Fect™ disinfectant wipes. The lab also tests to verify the storage stability of our disinfectants and other cleaning agents (yes, those expiration dates really do matter).

Additionally, the lab is largely responsible for our submissions with the FDA and they conduct the proper testing required by the FDA for our medical devices. This is an arduous process where our latest developments get put through the wringer and tested from every possible angle to ensure their safety and effectiveness. Thanks to the lab, we are able to perform many of these tests and certify that all our products will work as intended and be a welcome addition to any medical facility.

2. Information

The scientists who populate our lab not only work hard at developing and testing new products, they also strive to educate others about what they know. The men and women in our lab educate and inform consumers by providing expertise and commentary via written content. Many of the white papers and articles posted on our website are written and informed by the researchers in CS Medical’s lab. Some of our studies, like the Seven Day Hang Time Study are posted on our website to help inform consumers about the best methods for TEE probe storage after high-level disinfection.

All of this is posted with the hope that readers can be better informed about the latest science behind TEE probe reprocessing procedures. CS Medical’s ultimate goal is to be able to come alongside you and help you provide our communities with outstanding health care.

3. Safety

By constantly seeking to test our products’ effectiveness and being up to date on the latest in the field, our lab helps safeguard our customers and patients. CS Medical’s scientists work to identify and troubleshoot issues with our products before they are made available so that consumers get the highest quality products that do what they are supposed to. This approach helps maintain CS Medical’s reputation for excellence and extends that reputation to the facilities which use our products.

For example, when a medical facility employs our equipment as directed, such as the TEEClean® Automated TEE Probe Cleaner Disinfector, they can rest assured that TEE probes will be properly cleaned and high-level disinfected every time. This minimizes the risk of spreading an HAI and helps boost your facility’s reputation in the community. Using high-quality, lab-tested products is a great way to mitigate the risks associated with reprocessing semi-critical medical devices, like TEE probes.

While some other manufacturers are busy searching on Google for their data, CS Medical is running our own tests in-house to provide you with products that are safe, backed by science, and that work. Call or message us today to see how our lab can help bring your reprocessing procedures into the twenty-first century.

About CS Medical

Founded in 2003, CS Medical LLC is a leader in developing, manufacturing, and marketing medical devices that are designed to provide cleaning and high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes. Our products are engineered and developed with one single objective in mind: to minimize the potential of patient exposure to improperly reprocessed ultrasound probes. Our core products, the TEEClean® Automated TEE Probe Cleaner Disinfector and Ethos Automated Ultrasound Probe Cleaner Disinfector, are examples of our ongoing commitment to innovation and to the health and safety of medical patients and staff.

Beyond cleaning and high-level disinfection of endocavity and surface ultrasound probes, CS Medical believes in managing the quality of care given to delicate ultrasound probes. Our product offering provides solutions for healthcare facilities to minimize ultrasound probe damage and reduce the potential of contaminating high-level disinfected probes prior to use. The products address the following areas: bedside cleaning, point of care cleaning, electrical leakage testing, drying, transporting, and storing the ultrasound probe. Our objective is to manage the care given to each ultrasound probe thus allowing for a reduction in healthcare associated infections.

Located in Creedmoor, North Carolina, CS Medical's products provide quality device care and storage by minimizing healthcare operational costs, improving device readiness, and increasing regulatory compliance.
